GRANITE
- If you spill something, clean it up right away. Soap and water should be sufficient for
clean up.
- Do not cut directly on your stone as you will dull your knife and possibly damage your
granite.
- Always place raw meats on a cutting board or plate. If you put it directly on the stone,
the bacteria can seep into the pores of the granite.
- Design Surfaces offers Custom AquaShield Cleaner & Resealer, which seals your stone
every time you clean.
- We also offer Custom Concentrated Stone & Tile Cleaner for natural stone which
prevents soap scum build up and hard water deposits
- For biannual or yearly sealing, we sell Custom Sealer’s Choice Gold sealant. It’s a no-
sheen, natural-look, water-based, penetrating sealer formulated to provide maximum
stain protection. Rapid curing formula can achieve stain protection in four hours.
MARBLE
- The most important thing to know with marble is to use a mild, pH-neutral, non-
abrasive soap. You can mix a little soap or dish soap with warm water. Do not use too
much soap as it can leave behind a film.
- Acidic cleaners like vinegar, Windex and bleach should not come into contact with
marble. Even a lemon wedge can begin to eat into the marble within seconds.
- Abrasive particles or rough sponges will scratch the finish off marble.
- As soon as a liquid spills on marble, clean it up immediately. Try to blot the liquid
instead of wiping it.
- Use hot pads and trivets when placing hot items on your stone.
